Tombs of the Kings Road, Pafos, Dual Carriageway?

Postby dolmadis » Wed Jan 18, 2006 10:38 am

Are there any published plans or articles to make the Tombs of the Kings Road, Pafos Dual Carriageway? Or is it just rumour without official back up?

Hi everyone

I now have a reply from the Project Engineers.

Neophytos Zavrides wrote:
Upgrade of Tombs of the Kings Avenue will provide for a full dual carriageway with ‘respect’ to the adjacent developments.

A full cycle way will be to the south side and a round-about will be constructed at the way to the Tombs of the Kings site, three parking areas will be included as well.

The typical cross-section is the one of the Ayion Anargyron Avenue.

Design period is approximately 2 years starting July 2005, that means construction works will start end of 2007 as an optimistic scenario.

Hi Lana

I'm new here and I am not sure what you meant so I have taken you literally and tried to explain my understanding.

If this is not what you meant then "sorry".

I think that the above quote means that buildings that might appear to be in the way will not be bulldozed.

I think that the above quote means that a cycle path - two way will be added on the coast side of the road. That there will be a roundabout at the entrance to the Tombs of the Kings exhibit and there will be three more car parks added.
