Hey,
that looks Cyprus is one big village?! :) It seems to be likeable. I see you found many things you don't like but I hope it will not be as bad as you say.

Only the thing makes me be afraid: The drivng and drivers.
Your opinions of that makes me little uncertain.

I like the σιγα σιγα lifestyle.
I like the beaches.
I like the cypriot women, who are a mix of arabian and european(even though they are hairy), full bosom and full hips.
I like the villages which are still untouched by the globalisation, life is really good in those places.
I like the music of the buozouki, and the cypriot songs....
Ah yes, I also like the russian women

I do not like the people when they try to be more like the mainland europeans.
Even though there are in the EU, they have to realise that they are not truly europeans.
They are the mediterranean people with quite an influence of the middle east and they should accept it and should be proud about it.

Spanish, French and Italians are also Mediterranean people. This doesn't mean they are not European!

What DMS was trying to say is they are Levantines, In fact, 80% of the DNA in Cypriots, of both communities, can be traced back to the Phoenicians, so they ar much closer to, say, the Lebanese than they are to any Europeans, although there are traces of Venetian/Florentine. However, many Cypriots don't like to be told that they have relatively little in common with mainland Greeks, although Cretans and Rhodans are quite similar for obvious reasons.

I like the sense of freedom, of being able to walk everywhere, I never walk anywhere at home in England, I cannot stand the constant intimidation from the groups of youths that stand around outside shops, street corners, bustops and alike. They usally have been drinking and always pass some comment or abuse as you pass.
So not only do I get this freedom, but I get the sunshine to go with it. The word perfect comes to mind.

I'm with you there little sugar. What has happened to respect for anything and anyone in England? Youths who don't respect anything from authority to themselves and the authorites who show no respect towards the people who put them in office in the first place. I'm outa here asap. Yes, this rat is most deffinately deserting the sinking ship.

Hi VEX8
When are you due to come over?
It is sad but true, all is changing to fast here and for the worst, most of our good freinds have already gone to Spain, God help them.

Agreed and this is what tony blair is trying to improve if you have watched the news lately. But in cyprus you can still get this very little in some parts, its happened before.

Hi Glz33ko,
It most proberly happens all over the world and I know Cyprus is know exception, but its constant in England, Every county, every town, every street, every shopping parade ect. Since they stopped the cane in schools all respect has disappeared. Tony Blair has no hope of stopping the rot, trust me its there to stay and its going to get worse.

I'm afraid when it comes to politics it's too little too late. How can we trust anybody in public office when the pervading opinion is that they are all self serving megalomaniacs, whether or not that is actually the case for the individual they can't help but be tainted. As for myself i'm trying despirately to finance my move as soon as possible. Spain?? Ooooo dodgy. you realy got to know what you're doing when you attempt to buy property in Spain. I see so much about it on TV over here on watchdog and programmes like that. My dad bought a villa in Spain severall years ago but he is safe because he knows he is in an area where they don't compulsorily (real word?) buy your land from you. Or he was a little while ago !! I hear so many horror stories about ex pats getting ripped off by Spanish property developers and the Government. I know there is a problem in the north of Cyprus but is there any problems with unscrupulous properety developers etc? Though i am aiming to either rent or by resale, what do you recommend?
