ON-LINE use of Bank cards,

When I started the process of signing up with GESY it was the first time I had come across One Time Passwords (OTP) sent to my mobile.

Then this morning I renewed my wife’s UK passport over the internet ..... and when I used my VISA card to pay H.M.Passport Office in Belfast, the BoC sent me an OTP before the payment went through and followed with the usual ‘confirmation’ after the payment!

Is this now the standard with paying for anything on-line? If it is, it seems like a good idea. :)

Yes. :lol: :wink:

I should add that, I have a monthly payment to Amazon (my only off-island one with BoC) which just goes through as normal. I do though get the usual text notification of it.
