Something else we're forgetting, these engines (particularly Petrol ones) also produce CO (Carbon Monoxide) which definitely is poisonous to humans.

Actually how is it for cyclists in Cyprus? I've just bought myself a new mountain bike and i was hoping that this plus the public transport system would be enough to get me around. Is this wise or should i be worried about the way Cypriot drivers behave towards cyclists?

Devil, by mentioning the CO2 commonly used stanard , it doesn't mean that I agree as well!!! Mentioning, referring to something is one thing, agreeing is another thing! BTW, the 3,000,000 something is just an estimation, again not scientifically proved :) ...and I agree with your statement about the photo reaction.... I have always been good in biochemistry! :)

Are they any good for actually getting anywhere or are they just for the tourists and go to the 'pretty' places ? And tell me Mikros is it actually dangerous to try to ride on the road? And do you have to like you do in GB ?

Vex8 (couldnt you find a better nick? :) ) if you leave on seeside, bicycles are really nice in summer time, especially in Limassol, Ayia Napa (and I think in Pafos as well? Somebody correct me) there are cyclists' routes along the beach, which is really nice. In Nicosia, there are currently few cycling routes to be honest. There is also a cyclists' club, where they organize various trips with mountain bikes. I have to admit that it's a bit dangerous to use public roads. I missed a lot my bicycle, but I'm trying to find one at a decent price to start again, as in the good-old-days. What do you mean about in GB?

Well Mikros in Britain it is actually against the law to ride a bycycle on the pavement. Ok for pedestrians but not so good for the cyclists who have to run the gauntlet of unobservant motorists, fascist bus drivers and pot holes you could lose yourself in.

Cheers for those links Makros. I just had a quick look and i think if i went on one of those cycle tours they'd better supply an ambulance to take me home !!! One day i hope to be fit enough to cycle for fun but to start with i would be using it purely for work etc. I have just bought a new mountain bike and have stored it ready for when i get there but how do English prices for that sort of thing compare to Cypriot prices? I know you can spend thousands of pounds on a decent bike but what about reasonable prices? And i'm guessing that as bikes are rented to tourists spare parts must be readily available?

Not to be honest. Micromania used to have special offers, as well. I use a couple of other places selling bicycles in Nicosia, I have to go and ask them, before I fetch my money to Micromania :)
