The link to the YouTube is not in that reddit thread. At least, I could not find it.

A book was also written on the Greek resistance against the axis powers in WW2. Hero’s fight like Greeks by Ronald j. Drez. He provides the quote in this book and attributes it to Churchill.

You can believe it or not but trying to prove this as a negative or even debating it is so pedantic.

Maybe you should just appreciate the overall subject, and be grateful, in part to the Greeks, for your freedoms in Europe.

These dog fights over the Aegean are just training exercises for the Greeks.

This Turkish pilot got missile locked and ‘died’ 14 times Trying to evade.

Read the comments, and the Turkish propaganda (lies) trying to deceive what you can see with your very eyes.

Click on 'view entire discussion (32)'. Actually the link in that thread on reddit is not exactly the same youtube video but is similar and uses the same auido that to me and them just does not sound like churchill.

I think all this is in the reddit thread too.

You can prove a positive, which is exactly what I though you were trying to do when you posted the link you did ? I am just saying that for me (and the reddit guy) is not convincing as far as proving the positive.

I am grateful to anyone and everyone contemporary or historic that has fought or fights against prejudice, oppression and other things besides - regardless of their race or anything else. I am not sure what I have done to make you think otherwise ?

I wouldn't say that at all.

The Turkish Pilots do this deliberately from what I know. The penetrate the airspace and then track the scrambled Greek fighters, where they scramble from, and monitor how long to interception and how long till they are locked and so on.

This is why they bug out almost immediately.

The other reason why they do it is to maintain their freedom of navigation according to their definition which we all know is non compliant to UNCLOS.

I wouldn't say the Turks are training fodder for the Greeks.

Personally I don't even understand how these videos get onto YouTube. They should all be very classified but here is a Turkish one:

Put it this way Max, Turkish pilots are very good and very well discviplined and trained and no they are NOT inferior. Don't EVER make that mistake.

There latest batch are currently under training with the RAAF in the US as well at the Top Gun School.

What is even funnier is that there are former HAF and former TAF pilots that use to dogfight each other who are now flying B777 aircraft for Turkish Airlines in the same flight deck. I know many of them and they are good blokes as well you can have a laugh with. They are neither dumb, or inferior pilots. On the contrary, they are all pretty good and professional.

What you need to understand that we are all human, and even friends as we have more in common than you seem to think. They don't want a war like the Greek pilots don't want it. They are just doing a job and many of them are friends now and work together. There are bonds between the 2 sides it's just the politicians that stuff everything up.

If there was a war, then expect a very tough contest. If the Turks get the F-35s, then expect total Turkish domination over the Aegean.

It's imperative that Greece also make an F-35 purchase at all cost to maintain the balance. We must hope that Turkey doesn't get their hands on the F-35. The US has threatened an embargo but at the same time 8 pilots are being trained on the F-35 right now. So mixed signals.

That's interesting.

I know the first batch had arrived already. 2 of the instructors are from the RAAF. The rest are Americans.

they had already started flying the F-35, and now the US has asked them to leave by the 31st of July.

If that is true, then the USA is serious about the embargo.

Which begs the question, what is happening with the surplus F-35s? Maybe they should be sold to Greece at a cheaper price...US Aid to Greece for its loyalty and alliance with the IAF. I know the Israelis are getting them so it would be good if Greece had them too. Those F-16s are getting a bit dated.
