this is a remarkable comment.

Rugby player Israel Folau has drawn anger for linking Australia's bushfire crisis to the nation's same-sex marriage and abortion laws.

Folau, who was sacked by Australia in May for making anti-gay remarks on social media, described the fires as a "little taste of God's judgement".

Six people have died since last month in blazes raging in eastern Australia.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison condemned Folau's remarks as "appallingly insensitive".

"He is a free citizen, he can say whatever he likes but that doesn't mean he can't have regard to the grievance [and] offence this would have caused to the people whose homes have burnt down," Mr Morrison told reporters on Monday.

back in the eighties i worked with an asshole who believed that aids was sent down by god to punish gay people.

there is a few here on this forum that are not far away from this in a tangential way.

Yes this is another reason why we like to send our kids to private schools.

There is a Socialist war against devout people. I for one may not be devout or religious but I will support the right of people to believe whatever they like. The Orthodox and Catholic Church has been an important institutions to millions of families here, including all migrant Greek and Cypriot families.

Israel Folau, has the right to believe whatever he likes. And he should never lose his career for saying what he believes or citing a couple of verses of scripture. This is what he did to be sacked from the Australian Rugby Team. He tweeted 2 verses of scripture from the bible.

And this is why there are so many reports of abuse, 99% of which are untrue. The Socialists like Lordo and Erorsls are trying to bring down religion and establishment schools as part of their class warfare.

And yes, we are suppose to live in a democratic free country and in a democratic free country, people like Israel Folau are free to say what they want. He might not be correct but I still have no right to shut him down whether he is right or wrong.

There is no doubt that Israel is a very religious man. He believes in the Bible in every literal sense and he also believes that the Australian Bush-fires are Gods punishment on Australia because of immoral laws and anti God legislation like same sex marriage and abortion laws. This is what he believes, so let it be...

I don't believe that to be fundamentally true.

You have a very antagonistic, aggressive manner. Not to mention routine gratuitous and entirely unnecessary offensiveness. A small example perhaps is your tendency to regard the likes of people who legally apply UK tax legislation and pay accordingly as "Swines". The only way to deal with that sort of attitude can ultimately be quid pro quo. Thus, your "tangentially" in essence becomes a self-fulfilling process which drives you even further in that direction.

thats sounds perfect environement for the swines. and soon they will eveolve to fly too.

Believe me, a keyboard warrior like you isn't going to register on my nerves - ever.

You just don't get it, do you? People will pay tax at the rate they're legally required to, in accordance with relevant national legislation, just like you. Doing that isn't a case of not paying the "proper" tax.

Have you had a look at tax rates in other countries?

In the UK the top 1% of earners currently pay 29% of all income tax. The bottom 50% pay less than 10. Not really a case of being treated like shit by the swines is it? Your mental image of great suffering by the starving poor under the boot of a few, dripping with wealth, supported by a compliant, corrupt government is just a fantasy.

The many times proven end result of your philosophy is people queuing for bread. Not allowed to go into the party elite's well stocked shops.
