The A380 was always on the nose at QANTAS for sometime so this move comes to no surprise.

Coronavirus may have been the the feather that broke the camels back but QANTAS has been rethinking its A380 fleet for some time. Fact is, the B787, B777, A330 and A350 meets all of QANTAS long haul needs and its more economical even prior to Coronavirus because they manage to get better load factors.

They are guaranteed to order the B797 when that comes out because they have always been early adopters of new Boeing aircraft in particular with the exception of the A380 as they were he launch client for that type with Emirates.

Coronoavirus was probably a factor, but the A380 was plagued with issues to the bottom line of the company.

A bit like influenza really. Only difference is that Influenza actually kills a lot of people so from that we can only deduce for the time being at least that influenza is deadlier.

But no hype with the common flu. Which is just interesting to me. Not saying that Coronavirus isn't serious. It could end up being very bad. And I have no doubt that one day there is going to be some kind of mutation to the common flu that will wipe out millions of people as these illnesses become resistant to our medicines.

Corona virus is more like HIV than a flue type virus. The result from being infected with Corona virus is Covid -19. Just as AID's is created as a result of getting HIV and it has taken them a long time to get control of HIV.

OK got official notice that I have been delayed due to Coronavirus so I won't be going to US anytime soon.

They are offering regional rather than mainline, and as a result, I have withdrawn completely.

And with all the uncertainty, I have decided to remain in Australia so family have a reduced exposure.

So looking forward to America as well. Their biggest asset is definitely their people and their mentality. There is no denying they are at the forefront of the world in my opinion.

I know you were really looking forward going to the USA soon, but I had a feeling you would be delayed. I was hoping you would be delayed before you gave in your resignation in Australia and that was just last week when things were not a bad as they are now with Coronavirus and the whole financial market. Things have gotten crazy and no one knows when the end is right now. It may be a year or two before the air traffic gets back to where it was, which means you may be delayed just as long. Count yourself lucky, because once you start with the regional airlines, you could be there for a while before moving to the majors with lots of uncertainties in between.
