Rapid low-cost COVID test developed by Cypriot scientist launched in UK

"Up to ten people in a work, friends, family or other close contact bubble can be tested at the same time – on the same DnaNudge testing cartridge – at a cost of £10 per person, with results delivered within 90 minutes."

On another website someone questioned if masks work and supplied a video of some doctor disputing them!

But such a question is no different to:

* Do motorbike helmets work?

* Do seat-belts work?

* Do door locks work?

* Do condoms work?

And so forth, and the answer of course is always a... DEPENDS!

Has mankind ever invented anything that provides 100% protection from something?

I can’t think of anything… :?

Yes, nothing is 100% proof, because mankind is not 100% perfect. 8)

Volunteers needed for research on coronavirus in Cyprus – CORRECTION

Scientists from three universities in Cyprus are joining forces for a new research study, which will test the presence of coronavirus antibodies in three population groups and shed light on a number of unanswered questions about Covid-19.

They ask for volunteers, who were diagnosed with coronavirus, health professionals from the General Hospital of Nicosia, the Makareio Hospital and the General Hospital of Pafos as well as people from the general public and donors to further fund the research.

Those who wish to participate in the research should call the CY-Biobank Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research at University of Cyprus on 22-892815 or through: https://biobank.cy/

Thanks. I have sent a message offering to volunteer. I believe I have had this thing and recovered without any medical attention so I would love to know if I have antibodies, which would prove this.

Pity. They've had some mobile clinics around this week doing free testing. There was one by the Sigma bakery opposite AlphaMega at Kapsalos. My understanding was they were doing the antigen test (pin prick sample) which showed the level of antibodies in your blood. I also think I may have had this thing a year ago. Keep an eye on the local press. They may be doing more.
