What I found to be a fascinating insight into how genetic scientists have been working on various aspects of the virus:

Is this the first ever anti-lockdown protest, in Ohio?

I have no technical knowledge in the field, but those who do say that the first step in doing any scientific research into a virus is to isolate it, and this has not yet been done. This means there is little scientific basis to what is being said about the virus and no scientific proof even of a causal relationship between the virus and the disease it is said to cause.

Well, some did say the lockdown would end up killing more people than it saves.

Conversely, how many people's lives have been saved by their staying at home? RTAs, straight up accidents, perhaps even the dramatic drop in pollution. What would the overall mortality comparisons be? It's the sort of speculation that can do your head in. :D

Interesting. At last some statistical evidence of above-average numbers of deaths.

I'm not surprised...

Mrs. CyprusGrump had all the symptoms while visiting the UK last November. Many others reported 'bad flu symptoms' at the time... I'm convinced she had it...

If it has been 'in the wild' since last November but still has <1million cases and 50,000 deaths world wide it really isn't as deadly/infectious as is being made out...

I, too, contracted a nasty flu-like virus, yet a bit different from the usual flu, here in Cyprus in January. At that time, the news was full of reports about the novel virus in Wuhan, China. I wondered at the time if I could have caught this, but dimissed the idea as there were no reports of it spreading out of China at that time. It does tick all the boxes for COVID-19, though, and I must confess it was pretty nasty although I recuperated without any treatment (at the age of 63). There is a study by Oxford University academics in the field suggesting that the virus had already spread much earlier in the UK: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101 ... 20042291v1

Ditto in November. Ironically the day after I went to the local pharmacy to ask when they expected to get their consignment of flu vaccines.

I had “the flu” for about a week or so which left me with a persistent dry cough for a few weeks. I’m hoping perhaps that was it. If I’m lucky I shall never find out.

One of the biggest emerging problems with the lock-down is haircuts!

Laugh all you want but many of us are starting to need a haircut, so what happens now?

Luckily, I’ve got one of those cheepo hair-clipping sets stored away somewhere, and I told the wife the other day that soon she’s gonna have to perform barber duties and she looked at me funny!

I dread the moment but we don’t have a choice… :?
