Is it worth monitoring whether the Turkish Lira is now worth 2 cents or 0.1 of a cent, given the global corruption that drives this planet, the long-time favorable position Turkey has always enjoyed, and the history of rescue packages propping Turkey up time and time again?

I hate to be the party pooper Maximus, but I’ve seen this scenario replayed many times before to be so naïve as to think that Turkey will ever be allowed to "sink"!

To understand the politics of this planet you’ve got to think like an old NATO General who’s had his blinkers glued, stapled and bolted in place, and has no chance of ever removing them.

That old Nato General had a different map in mind.
Today Turkey has absolutely no land frontiers with USSR. What exists today is Russia, and assuming Russia is still a threat while providing the whole Europe with gas, it is already surrounded by other countries like Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine (Oh yes the big apple) Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Let aside the ex Eastern block countries Poland, Romania, etc etc that form a huge 2nd line of defense. Actually back in the old days Iran was far more important to the Americans in containing the USSR and look at it today...

if you think Turkey is going to come out of this decorated and smelling, then you better start thinking who's is doing all this to Turkey? Who is turning it's currency to shit, and for what reason?
Then you may understand that history is not static.

I’ve never stopped monitoring America’s foreign policy… it’s in my face every day anyway as an avid reader of politics.

What I still see happening is that Democrats predominantly hate Russia and that Republicans hate China and whoever comes to power steers the US into more and more hatred and attacks towards that perceived enemy.

As we speak, there is a sudden major instability in Kazakhstan and much is being written (as we speak again) as to the instigators and their aims… and it sounds no different to a leaf taken out of a 1960s or 1970s newspaper.

I'd be the first to welcome change but I'm really not seeing it happening.

The issue at hand is that Turkey is bankrupt or broke.

Take your pick.

And how does that affect your personal life !!!!!!!!

Why are you not thinking of other billion issues in the world but only focused on a issue in Turkey which obviously you are highlighting to make you feel better. That’s my point is that on this forum the only country in the world or in your small prism is Turkey. It’s obviously the big elephant in your room.

What about the climate change that will affect all of us. What about Russia s aggression towards Europe. You are missing other issues. The issue here is many countries are positioning themselves or striving for more power like Russia China. Turkey in a very small scale but the big problem is China and actually the shit caused in the Middle East with the constant interference of the west which we are all part of. We go in fuck countries up then bloody terrorist ground pop up. Even in the old days the same shit. The British in Cyprus and what followed was Eoka which the Brits labelled as terrorists exactly like ISIS . You see there are no innocent people on this earth. The south constantly abuses the foreigners. Look I could go on forever about all countries and the corruption . Who was giving out EU passports to the Russians oops Greek Cypriots. You see no one is innocent. Oh yeah and are the Greek priests telling your people not to vaccinate . How can religion get involved in politics . How corrupt is that. The same in Turkey , they have gone backwards with using Islam to influence opinion on the people. I am bored now but I think you get the point

Kazakstan sounds as though the Islamists have set root and they are about to start the process of Afghanistanising Kazakstan. When you read security service personell being decapitated, you know ISIL is in there taking advantage of the situation created by protestors and drawing violence to increase the chaos.
I would not be surprised if the yanks are actually helping them in some way. TIt could also be that Taliban have set their eyes on the resources there too.
ime will tell.

You are butt hurt because Turkey is bankrupt and I am talking about it.

It seems to affect you personally.

Did you know, there are many creators on youtube focusing on the issues in Turkey getting way more exposure than this thread.

Go find them as well and everyone else writing about it on the internet and post your comments.

Because Turkey is an ENEMY. Are you that stupid you can't figure it out? Whatever bad happens to Turkey, it amuses and pleases us.

What both you and GR are doing is called TROLLING. The topic may not interest you, but it interests us.
We are not here to feed the trolls like you both.

It doesn’t look good for a Cypriot to laugh at Erdo for allegedly haircutting bank accounts, after what our criminal government did to us in 2012.

If you only have eyes for Turkey’s shortcomings while turning a blind eye to ours, then don’t expect any support or respect from me.

It’s what I’ve been saying… Cypriots are not exactly famous for what they’ve got upstairs!

My message to all Cypriots out there is… if you’re too STUPID to see the irony in this, then GET OFF political forums and quit embarrassing us!

Also, hanging around a single thread year after year… waiting for “the great fall” of Turkey to come, is nothing short of a schadenfreud obsession that makes me cringe!

You’d expect a normal healthy-minded individual to be a little more articulate on a forum of such diverse topics. :?
