I should be in Polis on Monday ....

Postby 152bobby » Wed Sep 30, 2020 2:00 pm

Booked this holiday way before Covid was known. Anyway, we moved our flights with EasyJet when everything was up in the air and uncertain.

We would have probably moved it to October 2021, but at the time, EasyJet did not have those dates posted, but they do now and I can move them again for free.

My flights are now April 2021, but I'm wondering if I should move them again.

My airport parking is now a voucher which is good for a few years. Accommodation was not a problem either.

So, to be honest, I'm not sure what to do, keep my flights at April 2021 or move them again to October 2021, and looking at the current weather in Cyprus now, October weather is still very good.

PS: We have been to Polis four times now, so know it pretty well.

Get the cash if you can. :D

I have never been the one to book any flights for a holiday way in advance. Who knows what will happen in the next 6-12 month just to save a little money, which people would more than likely spend any savings for advance bookings in getting insurance anyway, just in case they cannot travel for 1001 different reasons. What have you gained by booking in way in advance, other than the airlines giving you hard time by not giving you your money back, even though they are the ones which canceled your flight in the first place?

Good luck all the same.

The reason for booking in advance is a case of trying to get accommodation, flights and airport parking all at the same time. In my case, it's nothing to do with saving a few quid

This back fired on me many years ago, when I booked flights and then could not get accommodation at the same time. I'm sure this could happen the other way round, when someone books accommodation and could not get flights.

I've never been one for booking package holidays with the mass crowds squashed into big hotels. I either go for Villas or smaller family run hotels .

It's not so much whether I come to Cyprus, it's being on a long metal tube with wings with 200 other people, regardless of how good a mask I wear.

As long as the flights anyone books with EasyJet, or any airline, if the flight flies, they will never give a refund simply because you don't want to go. At least EasyJet are allowing people to change flights at no extra cost (at the moment).

Anyway, it's up to me and my wife to decide this, I was just trying to get some views on the matter.

Thanks.
