A CLOSE SHAVE WITH A CYPRIOT DONKEY.!!

Postby miltiades » Thu Oct 01, 2020 2:10 pm

Been driving in Cyprus for almost three and a half years. Enough time to have become fully acquainted with Cypriot driving. HORRENDOUS! I'm aware that Cypriots almost never indicate when either pulling in or out, its not ....cool.
Im also aware that almost no driver takes a right turn from the left, donkeys do not as a matter of fact. My fellow Cypriots, this morning I came within an inch of a collision as a donkey rider made a right turn on tbe right side, I missed him since Im always aware that donkeys always take a right
turn on the wrong side of theroad.
Needless to say I gave this donkey rider a piece of mind.
For fucksake, are Cypriot drivers required to take a test or do they all have a koumbaro examiner. The authorities must introduce compulsory driving EXAMS to teach the donkey riders the safe way of driving. Fucking mobiles used by MOST
excessive speed, disregard of traffic lights, fucking peasants learn how to drive you are a fucking menace.

Yeah but the fines for all these offences doubled today.

Did you use the donkey's milk to reduce that razor burn?

All I know a Milti is that perhaps the problem is YOU and your driving skills rather than every other Cypriot Driver.

I always drive with good situational awareness and always looking for and expecting the unexpected from other drivers. Driven a lot in Cyprus and Greece and they are by no means the worst I have seen.

If you change the way YOU drive and be a bit more calm and defensive in your driving manner, then you won’t be having so many close calls, incidents and accidents. You are probably the most accident prone individual on this forum.

I know sometimes older drivers think they are road guns and there is nothing wrong with their skills but their minds are not as sharp and your reaction times may not be up to spec either.

I think you should take some driving lessons yourself dude, to learn about defensive driving. Or just hand your licence in and catch an Uber everywhere.

Once you develop your own skills first, you can be better equipped to deal with road users not doing the right thing. You can’t control others but you can do something about your own abilities so that if someone does pull out without indicating you are able to escape because you haven’t backed yourself into a spot with nowhere to go. I always drive with the assumption that some clown is going to do something unexpected and outside the rules so I’m always scanning in front of me, my left and right and what’s behind me and I always know what I’m going to do when it happens I order to avoid a collision.

There are of course times when collisions may not be avoidable. Such as driving in Australia and a kangaroo suddenly jumps in front of you. Many people will swerve to avoid collision but at a 100km/hr you might rollover and kill yourself. So you just don’t do anything and go right through the kangaroo. RIP to the kangaroo.

See you always have to have a plan, and you always have to stick to it is my point. It doesn’t seem like you have a plan or have the ability to apply defensive driving and good situational awareness.

I haven’t had a single accident in neither Greece or Cyprus, not even a close shave. I can’t control them but I fancy my ability to deal with them and be calm.

Passed my test in 1971, age 21. 50 years driving in th3 UK without an accident. Drove throughout Europe on 4 occasions
Had an unblemished driving record for 45 years until I received my one and only fine and licence endorsement for doing 69 miles per hour on a strench of a motorway tha5 had the limit reduced from 70 to 60.
I think my driving CV qualifies me as an excellent driver.
I firmly believe that unless a Cypriot has had a European driving experience, excluding Greece and Italy, he will never be a good driver but will remain a donkey rider.
As its my nature to be observant in all of life's activities, i have concluded that NO CYPRIOT has even the slightest amount of road sense, all are donkey fucking riders so folks I rest my case. By the way, I shall be attending the Limassol General Hospital today to undergo a CT Scan following a serious health issue. I attended the hospital Tuesday gone a d had a number of check ups including an Ultra Sound. I can say that Im full of praise for the exemplary fashion of treatment thus far. I did say to the Doctor that my contract expires when im 97 !! He laughed!!
