I should start an OP but...............................I see Russia has just signed an agreement with the Sudanese this week to build a naval base near Port Sudan. Which will be their second one after Tartous, Syria and first I believe in the Indian Ocean (?).

Surprisingly, it seems that the person who's most upset about it is............................ Erdogan.

I've wondered what's happened to CG too. IIRC his lady was having medical problems about the last time we heard from him. I hope that isn't the cause of his absence.

It’s ok mate. There is life after CF. Hope all goes well for you.

Trump had all the negatives for him to lose, but very rarely a sitting president loses, so I had some questions of Biden winning. Actually, when Trump was impeached, at that time I was sure he would win re-election and he would have if he played his cards better. Instead he became too controversial with Covid-19, the police brutality and the demonstrators, abuse of power, aligning himself with white supremacy, racist comments, his taxes which he paid very little, name calling, his aggressive attitude at the 1st debate with Biden, walking away from the Kurds in Syria, kissing Erdogan’s butt and on and on. His final screw up was his premeditated plans to try to steal the election by making it difficult for the minorities to vote by mail-in and discouraging his followers not to do mail-in voting, so that he can claim victory on Election Day prematurely, and should he lose, then have plans to claim voter fraud even before the election took place.

Will Biden/Harris be better? No idea, but can’t be worse than Trump. Let’s wait and see.
