That is why it is important to find out who it belonged to. It makes no difference whether it was a private citizen or not, there is a slim chance that even if it was rental car we can find out who it belonged to, It is important the owner name is found out.

I told you it is about 6th of February 1964. What the hell do you think it is about? For those of you who know Sevgul Uludag, she was the one looking for the owner of this car. You don't need any other information you asshole. If you have contacts who can identify who owned this car on the 6rh February either use them to get the information or bugger off.

Was this to do with the bombing of the US Embassy?

No Richard, this is not connected with the bombing of the US Embasy. On the 6th of February in the Aysozomeno area GCs attacked Aysozomeno and killed 5 people and a GCs was taken from that region and has gone missing. Either This car belongs to the GC who is missing or the the TC who killed him. It could be that the driver of this car is the swine who killed the GC and he took his car.

That is why it is important to find out who this car was registered to on the 6th of February. I have searched in the north and have been told that the car was registered in the RoC office.

Doesn't the initial Z indicate that it belongs to a rental company? I asked someone who should know about the practice of prefixing leased cars with a Z - he suggested mid 60s. I was surprised that leasing cars was so much of a business back then that they would care about special licence plates. I strongly doubt anyone would keep rental records close to 60 years... if not the police could dig up something over a leased car gone missing.

It would surprise me if you didn't think twice about the ZCF-format yourself, though

Thanks for that Lordo. Yes it's obvious the vehicle would have been registered in the ROC as at that time there was no such entity as the TRNC so all vehicles would have been registered centrally with no differential between TC or GC owners

Crooked River Guy suggests it may have been a hire vehicle but my research online points to the Z plate not occurring until the early 70s ( though I stand to be corrected as not a lot of info is available)

Maybe Miltiades can shed some light on this as he would have been a young man in Cyprus around that time (re the Z plate that is) .
