...an American publication reviews in great detail these events in Canada, with our own colonial paths, we can (must) all learn from.

The dialog today, is the first of its kind, a day where such lives lost are not forgotten, by all Canadians. Every year, from now on, Native children matter.

It may not be much, but it is a step forward.

...more on this topic, in hopes of widening the perspective,

...something to learn from, as a Cypriot, and our own Colonial past; such as it is with Humility, and Grace.

(Meanwhile the Prime Minister who founded this day is off, on vacation; with his apologies when asked why.)

...on this last day of the Pope's visit, he leaves the Native People just as divided and hurt because he has not done more within his Church. Once again, in brotherhood he is made a Chief; we see this graciousness wasted if he leaves Injustice to prevail. Once again in mending this wound, the depth of such institutionalised intolerance we find goes deeper still. Now that a healing process has begun though, there is Hope. Time will tell if this Pope can do more; frankly i hope so.
