Poverty

Postby Lordo » Wed Dec 22, 2021 4:36 pm

What is poverty, why does it occur and what is life like within it?
Can people work themselves out of poverty?

So to start it all here is a song from the 90s by a Singer hated by the Turkish Establishment. Literature and Music business in Turkey has allways comcerned itself with poverty. Rember seeing him in Rainbow in the 90s. What a voice.

Yoksulluk Kader Olamaz Poverty is Not Fate.

Sıram gibi sıradağlar
Anam anam derdin mi var?
Yaram yürekte değil ki gelip sarsın yar
Radyolarda şarkılar boş ver diyorlar
Açlıktan verem olana bal ye diyorlar

Yoksulluk kader olamaz kader değildir
Firavunlar bile böyle zalim değildir

Ben vatandaş Ahmet'im evkafta memur
Ay sonuna yetmiyor evdeki kömür
Bir kilo et seksen lira tadını unuttum
İnsan gibi yaşamanın adını unuttum

Yoksulluk kader olamaz kader değildir
Firavunlar bile böyle zalim değildir

Devlet baba borç içinde sabret diyorlar
Sen de bakkala kasaba borç et diyorlar
Ben onurlu insanım boyun eğemem
Alacaklı ver deyince ödün veremem

Yoksulluk kader olamaz kader değildir
Firavunlar bile böyle zalim değildir

Every country has people in poverty in the capitalist world whiles some enjoy huge wealth.

Why?
Why should a man whi sits by a screen and presses a few keys get paid millions and a person serving you in the supermarket get paid a minimum wage which is not enough to live on?

Why oh why oh why?

Why does it have to be this way?

For the same reason YOU wouldn't pay the telephone operator of your company the same as your salesman you brings in thousands of profit.

Lordo you have two people,

1. Someone who risked their capital, organised and set everything up, made sacrifices and manages it to establish a successful pencil manufacturing company,
2. Then you have someone who turns up and learns how to put lead in to a stick.

Why should the second person earn the same money?

What about the sod who fuckin produces the product, does that not count.

I am not advocating paying people the same money. But paying a person millions and another peanuts so they cannot live cannot be correct.

You have avoided the question. Is poverty necessary for Capitalism to work or is it not.

its quite telling that you post two threads back to back to gripe about poverty and the financial world.

This it seems, you want to take it in the direction of "communism is the best" and the other one's agenda seems to be that you think "money is the root of all evil".

So are you a poor communist wannabe or something?

The question is very simple:
Does Capitalism dictate poverty
Does it just happen?
And finally can it be avoided>

Nothing about communism or any other ism. Although this may lead to another thread regarding that subject.
