For a start you would have had a much easier army life like some others we can mention here right?

That's based on the assumption that I had a daddy to pay for uni and postpone the military service, but not everyone's life unfolds that way.

Cyprus is not Turkey nor Greece. Here once you turn 18 you have to do military service. In T and G they have the option to go to Uni and then do military service.

Malakies... you can defer it in Cyprus too, even from way back in the mid 80s when I served.
