Hello
As it is my intention to retire to Cyprus in 2007 or there abouts, perhaps you could help me out with some information.

I am from the UK and reside there now, however when I finally come to live in Cyprus, it is my intention to continue to travel to the Far East for a few months of the year.

What airlines fly from Cyprus to say Dubai (Emirates?) for a connection to the Far East in particular Thailand. Any other knowledge of connection airports would be appreciated.

Several. Emirates, Kuwaiti are two I've used and I think there may be more. IMO, Emirates takes some beating.

Flown Emirates numerous times from Birmingham/Manchester - Dubai - Bangkok and I agree they are superb.

Once flew Kuwaiti also but not as good as Emirates.

However, do these airlines fly out of Cyprus or do you have fly out of Cyprus with a Cypriot Airline and then get a connection from Kuwait/Dubai?

I flew once to Bangkok from Larnaca via Amman (Jordan) and back. As far as I remember their rates were the best.
Another option is Thai Airways http://www.thaiairways.com/ (via Athens) but more expensive and longer flight.

Both Emirates and Kuwaiti fly from Larnaca with their own aircraft.

Hey, anyone thinking of a holiday to the occupied north of cyprus , then the stupid cyprus government will let you fly to the south then you can go and have a hoiliday in the north and spend your tourist money on proping up the occupation.
What do you thing about that then smart cypriots ?
