None of the rules prevent posters from suggesting in their posts that a nuke strike is either imminent, deserved, or far fetched... if that’s what you’re saying.

Of course not. People can post anything they want. The past couple of days seem to have proved, without doubt, that the great God Admin is indeed dead on this forum.

My point though is that expressing an earnest desire that any country should incinerate cities of millions, anywhere, with nuclear weapons is in essence - lunatic. Don't you agree?

I’m not sure about a nuclear war drill taking place, but periodically, there are sirens going off for testing purposes in the event there is a nuclear power problems where the citizens will be advised to take their Potassium Iodides Tablets to protect their thyroid glands from radioactive iodide. Each household has these tablets as we have 5 nuclear power stations in the country. Having said that, each home and apartment blocks have a concrete cellar with almost a 12” inches solid concrete door to protect us in the event there is a nuclear blast.

That reminds me, that I need to add more can foods and some more wine in the cellar just in case with the Ukraine-Russia war.

Are you saying all these things were taking place in Switzerland even before the Ukraine fallout?

Absolutely. Years and years before Ukraine-Russia saga. Most probably going back to Cuban missile crisis.

Re - the orgasmic hypersonic missile thing.

There are usually half a dozen US Ohio SSBN submarines on routine patrol. More in the case of heightened tension (like now perhaps). They all carry 24 Trident missiles, each with half a dozen MIRV warheads. Some are decoys, deploying a host of radar confusing objects.

At a certain defcon-level and without orders to launch after a direct attack on the US, they will submerge to maximum depth for a predetermined time. Subsequently, they'll come to within a couple of hundred feet of the surface where they can receive orders from Very Low Frequency transmitters in the US. If those orders aren't forthcoming the assumption is that the US has been hit and they will carry out their attacks in accordance with predetermined plans. Each of the 144 missile warheads has up to a 450 kiloton explosive effect. That's 800+ warheads. You can imagine. Every ICBM missile is "hypersonic".

That's not to mention all the hundreds of missiles widely dispersed throughout the US mainland and of course those available to the UK and France.

I post this not as some sort of "My Dad is bigger than your Dad" thing but merely to point out how ridiculously naïve your view of this new (and basically experimental) orgasmic hypersonic missile things is.

Absolutely any use of nuclear weapons will totally destroy - or if we're lucky just change beyond recognition- the world we live in now and know so well. And.................. it's all really in the hands of one single man who seems to have painted himself into a corner. Warm feeling.................... ehh?
