So overall it is true that Australia is a better country than US in terms of education and health. No comparison really.

But when it comes to getting things done and how the corporates are run and general society, America kicks some arse right here people.

Have you ever wondered why 90% of the worlds innovations in tech and science are from America? And I'm talking in every facet from tech, cars, transport, aviation, medicine, space exploration, green energy, business, finance and banking.

Open your eyes people. This isn't a dumb country. It is a country that has excelled and conquered the globe economically and socially. This is the American Empire. It's a different empire unlike any other we have ever seen in human history.

USG is a pleasure to deal with as well. You can get things done here very easily. Sometimes it just takes a lawyer. Like in my case with regard to VISA and immigration. America is a country open for business. And USG is a breeze to deal with as well, whether its the Department of Immigration or the FAA. CASA (Australia) really could learn a thing or 2 from the FAA. The FAA is all about helping its members achieve goals and of course it does help being sponsored by a major corporate I have no doubt. I guess that's the key difference. USG will bend over backwards to help the big boys and their employees. As soon as I arrived in the US, I had my own personal FAA case manager who knew everything about me already before I even spoke with him at the St Louis Office.

It's very easy making friends in America. And they do have what the Greeks call Filotimo. More so than most Europeans, Brits or Aussies. They open their houses to you.

From day one, in St Louis, I met with the Captain I was talking to over Facetime for months. He was a very big help to me. Instantly I was at his home for dinner, meeting his family. A wonderful human being. A devout Christian. Before dinner, it was prayer. I kid you not.

But this guy had an interesting past.

He was self made, not from the US Military and his first job was in the police force.

Within a week, I met my recruiter which was more like an agent or head hunter. He was from American Airlines. and was running a clever little side business. His payout for getting me to America - $10,000 USD. There were 4 from Australia so that's $40,000 USD for 4 people. He was a Denver base which is why I was wanting to go to Denver. He thought I was mad for bidding for a NJ domicile and living in NYC. My wife is starting to see that as well now. But we do have family support in NYC which is advantageous. When we all had COVID, we had another household to send our Son too. That was valuable to say the least. It's good to have this support and people you can count on - family.

Socially, we have not been lonely. I've been invited to so many functions and households, the only difficulty is going to all and not offending. Plus reciprocation is very difficult for us at this point in time, because we have hardly been able to catch our breath let alone organise a new household. But we are getting there.

America is a very good and exciting place and there is something here for everyone. Biggest draw back for us is the pace and the cold. Wife is starting to come around to the idea of california.

But I got some work to do. I got to get my command and then get over to mainline. For the last 2 years, the US Airlines have been shedding load to their subsidiaries. So routes that were B737 or larger were being shed to smaller types to reduce costs because load factors were impacted. So mainline routes are being taken over by Subsidiary low cost airlines owned by the parent and it's still happening but gradually they are going back the other way as more pilots are retrained from being furloughed.

Command should be in about 18 months where I currently am which is advantageous to me because I'll then be direct entry command in mainline but on a different Boeing type. And an infamous Boeing as well. The one you all know about. When that happens, I'm bidding for either LA or San Fran.

This is not American but clearly this is at the centre of western civilisation and how they are able to evade tax.

Lets face it Trump and all those who elected him were some thick shit. And of course so are those who supported him then and still support him to this day.
