That’s interesting. I employ a similar technique with yours. Stripping out the Russian propaganda, assorted leftist clap-trap and back-patting stuff, ending up with exactly the same results. Small world. Ehh?

What’s happened to GR? :?

We’re all having to go cold Turkey (can we say that in here, without breaking a protocol? :? ) minus our daily 30 link fix.

Anyway lets get back to the question in hand.

If the economy is not expanding and in fact stagnant, what will the effect of increasing interest rates be?

With the central bank predicting inflation to be up 10 per cent and GDP growth down 1 per cent for the final quarter of 2022, the projection seems to meet the remit of “stagflation”. The figures will pile pressure on chancellor Rishi Sunak to provide more support for struggling families. Unemployment to surge

This government has not shown any interest in supporting the families struggling so what happens if unemployment begins to surge?

It seems to me the motive for increasing interest rates is something completely different. They supporters who benefit form high interest rates have had to reduce their living standards a little and the increase perhaps was to compensate them a little. Especially just before the local election this month.

How do you know?
Who is to say it did not limit the damage.
You jump to conclusions too quickly.

Lets get back to the subject matter.

Let me put it another way.
You have half a lemon in your hands and you squeezed every drop out of it?
What is the point of squeezing it further?
More to the point have you tried it?
What happens?

I never responded to your meaningless crap, whereas you often respond to my "Russian propaganda". Hence you are now caught lying about "stripping it out". 8)

Interestingly the "leftist claptrap" he refers to are the very people that created everything that is envied worldwide about UK.

NHS, Free Education, Free Dentistry, Free Eye Care and Free Prescriptions

And the very party he supports has been trying to destroy them ever since with sum measure of success. All but NHS is no longer free but reduced prices under NHS for treatment. Prescriptions are also free for those who are in receipt of Universal Credit employed or unemployed. Interestingly over 60s also have have free prescriptions but I wonder for how long.

No, you just tend to go straight to personal abuse.

Pointing out what’s usually the bleedin’ obvious - that something’s patently propaganda - isn’t exactly responding. By stripping out I clearly mean it’s not something to be taken seriously. Although, you apparently do. Every time.

You seem to accept - repeatedly - when the Russian army’s pulverizing population centers all over Ukraine that each time they hit the civilian bullseye and it makes global headlines it’s actually the Ukrainian military murdering their own on that occasion? In order to make the Russian’s look bad? That’s the definition of “meaningless crap”. Baaaaaaaaaaaa! :eyecrazy:

FWIW, I’m not particularly a Tory supporter and indeed have applauded some of the achievements you champion. As a child, living in a post-war shit hole East London ghetto, I’d go so far as to say Aneurin Bevan probably saved my life. On more than one occasion. Moreover, I’ve no time for Johnson (for reasons which will differ to yours - those seeming to me to be in the main dogma based) and would be quite happy to see the buffoon go. Although, given the total dearth of political talent at present a good replacement seems problematic. As with Trump though, that doesn’t seem a consideration, and look where it’s led us all.

Lordo. You’re a man perennially in search of an argument. Although, being in the political wilderness, after such a long and spirited campaign in support of Corbyn, I can understand how difficult it must have been for you. If you switch to even the faintest hint of right-of-centre though you’ll find on most forums they’ll be queuing up to have a pop at you.

It once was "bleedin' obvious" that the earth was flat whereas the opposite was “meaningless crap” . Not today. At least for those who are not been fed with hay. 8)
