Given how often we seem to hear of the economic struggle going on I’m just thinking of what would be the enormous cost to change all the road signs/traffic lights, etc. Not forgetting replacing a zillion plugs and sockets.

All the house sockets are 3 pin and if we wish to connect a two pin plug into a three pin sockets, it really is not that hard. You have to live under embargo situation to work out how to do it. The Cubans can fit any car engine into an other car. Of course you can buy an adapter, how expensive can it be but if the EU has two pin set up, I am all for following the EU rules.

As I said before, all the cars are set up to drive on the left and if that is changed, it wil cause a lot accidents for a very long time till all the cars are changed too. This was the case back in the 80s when al the cars were being bought from Turkey and the steering wheel was on the wrong side. Till they found out they can buy better cars from Japan with the steering wheel on the correct side.

Well, that’s not very kind. I’ve lived here for almost 16 years, full time. Which I suspect is a little more, or at least not too different, than your good self. Otherwise, I’ve been a regular visitor for about 47 years.

I have had a chat with the locals here and they said they have never heard of this conversion and changing which side of the road we drive in will be impossible to implement despite what the crazy Imam thinks across the water.
