It seems now to have come down to just 4 regular posters.

It's perhaps worth taking a few moments to reflect upon why?

...we still have a readership; despite all the things (about the Forum) that are in affect inactive as marketing tools.

...i imagine the new members are not welcomed accordingly, almost daily there is one.

...it should not be hard to reach out to members who no longer write; is it?
(you will note that i dig up old topics; this in the hope that the participants in it are informed of the new message.)

...we, those of us currently active may take the time to add to such topics having come across such tid bits in our daily lives as media consumers that are worth sharing.

...is it that hard to open the gates so to speak responsibly?

...by the goodgrace of our admin this Forum remains open, the only one of its kind on the internet (not FB, or other "everything" platform(s)) promoting dialog relating to Cypriots on their views to topics they wish to explore.

...if you complain, you must take responsibility, all of us accordingly; as it is 'we' are Free to be loud in this tiny kafeneon, on the road in asphalt no longer trafficked heavily with the super-highway that replaced so many like it.

...i am for new membership, too.

Well, it is supposed to be 'The Cyprus Forum'; it is anything but...

I pop in now and again for the LOLs but it predominately features one-sided views on World events and foul mouthed abuse.

Why would anybody stumbling over 'The Cyprus Forum' bother to stay after reading the first couple of topics...?

Plus there is no debate - Bordo blocks/doesn't read any dissenting views, RH can never admit he was wrong, etc.

In fact, I've no idea what the prolific posters get out of their little echo chamber...?

RW.

Regarding new members. From the discussion during Admin's last visit I think it was established that without Forum moderation, or his active participation (I don't think that likely) there can be no more new members.

As well at that, those remaining have been steadily dwindling. GR stopped participating a year ago. Paphitis and Pyrpro haven't posted for about 6 weeks now. Half a dozen or so (Max, Erolz, STUD, etc) pop up infrequently.

As I said, it's now come down more-or-less to just 4 regulars. All of whom tend to heartily agree on most matters. Yourself it seems to me being largely ambivalent. One day you will post a pro-Ukraine video, the next an anti. Neither of which you defend should you be challenged. After all this time I've really little idea of what you actually believe in.

As is often the case I have trouble understanding some of what you're trying to say. If I've got it right then I have to disagree. It isn't about how many views posts get, although that seems to be Lordo's only criteria. Heaven forbid there should be any interaction. Forums are about discussions, where people air and exchange views (aka opinions), rather than just broadcasting them. That and the exchanging of information for mutual benefit. Not an aspect of CF.

The level of acrimony on this forum - and I confess to some guilt in that respect (mostly personal, QED based) - is extraordinarily high.

I agree, there's very little in the way of diversification. I try to post on other matters. Astronomy/Aviation, the odd joke (not that there's much in the way of humour abounding) but the remaining diehards tend to stick to Ukraine/Gaza. I don't include La La Land which is without doubt just one man's vanity thread. A personal Blog.

Without some sort of revamp - a general change of conduct perhaps ?- I think this forum is in essence doomed. In that respect I'm not holding my breath. :(

...nothing will change likely. And again a big thank-you to the Patriots who have kept this Forum open despite the dysfunctions it suffers.

...and while it is not a star of entertainment, all about Cyprus vibrant with a lot more activity it is more Cypriot than joining Tiktok or FB where, if you want you make your own platform, where you find a lot of everyone actually.

...and yes, you might call my opinion ambivalent because it is based on seeking Truth, facts some 'good' some 'bad'; i want to be helpful. I know where i stand (, not for "Them"), and that i am hard to understand because my position is in conflict with the general trend to pick a side so to speak: Cypriot eh?

...indeed our conversations seem petty because in the scheme of things they are, and yet it is a wonderful place this place. I/i have learned so much from yous and it has made me a better person as well as a better individual.

...indeed the other Cypriot Forums are lost to us, and their wealth of information too. i was a member of another before i became a member of this one; Cyprus, the notion of a Cyprus made of Cypriots will be much poorer without the Cyprus Forum (which i believe) was the first, now the only one. (And it was a big loss when the other one was closed, to save a bit of money quite frankly but i'll say no more.)

...things change. And i wonder, will this Forum be no more because there is no War?

The Problem; this is for those of us left here, our problem.

(...and what is wrong with that?)

...GR quit a long time ago. His last foray was to destroy us and he failed. (he may have shortened milti's life but i imagine at the cost of shortening his own). I assume the other guys will come back when he does.

While you make a lot of assumptions about me, your example is a very poor one. And while Lordo's topic(s) count in the thousands of views, it is something for you to consider should you decide to act with as much conviction.

...'being' informative is the least we can do for each other; reading and listening are interactions that are, it seems, highly under rated.

...all i can say is if you are anxious, too anxious or bored to be imaginatively involved take a break; or if you care about Cyprus, Cypriot interests and culture, the Problem, try to demonstrate your care accordingly.

...curious LR, do you drive around Cyprus? There is a topic i/I would enjoy very much, "Driving around Cyprus", a travelogue if you will, a mix of interesting stops and views, naturally there will be lots of driving tips.

Four people? So its four people, it's nice to know at least you have some friends, people you've known for years; quit your griping.

I think Bordo is most likely having some form of breakdown, I doubt that it will end well for him... :?

As for views, I'd imagine that the vast majority are 'Bots', I can't imagine that 147 people have actually read this thread for instance...
