How much does it cost here in Cyprus? On international sites it's base price for a new one is listed as 33.150 $ (16500 CYP). Why do I get the feeling it's more expensive here?
I would also appreciate if anyone knew any other costs that I will have to pay, like taxes, insurance costs etc.

I think they cost about £26,000; they used to be a rather more before they realligned Car Tax/Duty here.

I thought about one - but in the end settled for a soft, comfy boulevard cruiser.

'cose johny you checked on an American site, that's the reason! Still its a nice car, perfect engine, awesome engine sound especially when the VTEC gets into work.... You can find some second hand imported from Japan, but you have to have in mind that these engines are very sensitive related to good maintenance, high quality oil and not thrushing the engine when cold (even in our weather!). I remember I saw some minor problems in a website, but these were rectified by the Honda dealers.... So get one with a service history stamped by Honda!

Mikros thanx for the advice. Still can't figure out the reasons for the difference in price in us and cyprus/europe. Is it high taxation? Can't be just that...

It is and it is a matter of supply and demand law... The more you sell the better price you get from the factory, plus different countries have different taxation system...

Have a look here as well: www.honestjohn.co.uk

The Tax with VAT on the S2000 is around £6,200 or US$12,400!

Plus all cars in the US are soooo cheap! Because the local manufacturers have economies of scale, the Importers have to trim profit margins when selling, in the US

The tax you will have to pay is as I have shown above, with a straightline age deperciation over 10 years eg if the car is 5 years you will pay only 505 of the tax.
