That's very propable brother ! Many mainland Greeks remember very dearly the times they were living with the Turks. Actually they consider themselves more Anatolians than Europeans. How about the mainland Turks, what do you think their feelings for the Greeks are?

As for the Enosis dream that Bananiot mentioned, that originated from the priests and the capitalists.Today nobody trusts the priests. As for the capitalists, well soon after 1960 they realised their interests don't match with enosis. On the other hand ordinary people don't exactly love or trust the "kalamarades". Bananiot said that those who are pro-Enosis today don't come in the open because they are scared. On the contrary! The very few who still beleive in Enosis still do advertise their dream.Their problem is that everybody knows the majority of them are mentally retarded.

Mainland turks are having this huge greek revival and now in mention use the word our 'brothers' as everyday language, its like two long lost brothers finding each other again and i believe this 'love affair' is here to stay as they have in my opinion realised they are stronger united with many many common aspects, may i say this is a VERY good thing and hopefully this example will show the world the true mediterranean people in the finest light.

Maybe we cypriots should stop pointing fingers and blaming others and take example, we have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

What I wanted to say in my last response is that most of those that may not wish for enosis now, they do so for the wrong reasons. Very few are against enosis on principle. If another chance comes, then many will die in the stampede to jump on the enosis band wagon. May be this is not altogether bad, habit creates nature.
