best resort(s) in cyprus to stay if getting married

Postby tanyatipple8 » Tue Feb 28, 2006 10:54 am

Please could anyone give my fiance and I some help with choosing which resort to stay in cyprus, initially are choices are between Limassol and Paphos.
We are getting married out there, so want some-where relaxing but also with good restaurants, and optional night-life.
If anyone can recommend a good 5* value hotel this would also be much appreciated.
Any thoughts on the Paphos Amathus Hotel or Hawaii Grand Hotel?

I prefer Elysium to be honest more posh, I dont really like Hawaii Hotel... I would prefer Amathus and Four Seasons or Le Meridien in Limassol, they are more exclusive hotels

Paphos Amathus would be a good choice...was working at the hotel in 2004/2005 and we had lots of British guests having their Weddings there and they were happy...Paphos has a few other nice 5* hotels too if you want to look into the Elysium or the Annabelle are recommended too....

If Paphos the Annabelle would be my choice, if Limassol the le Meridian/Four Seasons/Hawaii Grand would be heading the list, depends on the prices but remember you'll get what you pay for, there are 5* hotels....And there are 5* hotels...

I am going to a Dinner Dance at the Annabelle on Saturday - and had Christmas Lunch there, but the Elysium is the only genuine 5* hotel in Paphos.

Nobody has mentioned the Anassa. If you want real seclusion and peace and quiet that's the ticket. However, the Elysium is easier to get into town and a bit more friendly. Problem with the Anassa is that it's so private you can walk through their grounds and not bump into anyone! The Elysium has really lovely Loft Rooms which walk out onto the terrace and pool area. They also have private bungalows with jacuzzi's and pools. The Annabelle is right in town. Their executive beach rooms walk onto the beach. It is one of the oldest hotels in Paphos but is extremely nice. In Limassol the Four Seasons is awesome and right in the tourist area. St Raphael's isn't all that and the Hawaii Grand is OK. I would suggest Paphos as it tends to have a nicer atmosphere and not SO touristy. Limassol can be so overrun. Make sure you let the hotel know it's your honeymoon and they should throw in some special treats :)

I live and work in Protoras and can recommend any of the tsokkos hotels, ( no i dont work for them but have stayed in some over the years) all are very good quality, good luck to you let us all know where you eventually choose.

The Anassa is top of the list for quality but no night life outside of the hotel

Annabel in Paphos Town is very good, i'd say it's not quite 5 star but worth staying at, don't go for the deluxe rooms, they are not worth the extra cost.

The best hotel i've stayed in over the Protaras area is the Alexander the Great.

Bear in mind that if you are getting married in the winter then Protaras closes
