A good wage in Cyprus

Postby greek.god » Sat Mar 04, 2006 2:21 pm

Hi, just a question. Is 2000 to 2200 CYP per month considered a good wage in Nicosia. This is without the wife working. No bills, probably will rent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Nick

2000 CYP is a very good wage for Cyprus. But it all depends on what you are used to. Bill Gates for example would suicide if he had to live with "only" 100.000 per month :P

Does this involve cabaret dancing?

If I were hired as a Cabaret dancer I'd go broke very quickly. Good to know though that there is a market for an overweight dancer. Michael Flatley eat your heart out!! Any suggestions as to a good place to live within commuting distance to Nicosia. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and alternative employment opportunities. Nick

You can live in Nicosia itself if you are going to work there. Why live somewhere else and commute?

There are plenty of houses and apartments available in Nicosia, I've been looking to move there over the last couple of months and have found some very nice 3 bedroom apartments for £300-400 per month. If you want to be just outside there are LOTS of places in the Latsia area.

300 to 400 a month sounds very reasonable. Is it very easy to get around Nicosia without a vehicle? I am worried about my wife who does not speak any Greek but has grasped 5 other languages. How difficult will getting her a job without greek language skills be? Thanks a million for the input. This is a fantastic forum for information. Nick
