I don't think you quite grasped the insurance market. Loyds of London does not like chaos and they will not insure chaos. Currently it is no risk coming through Hormuz, it is an issue. In other words it is certainty. So as there are no tankers coming through, I suspect they are losing money too. But also it seems some tankers have been blown up without even trying to come across, so it seems it is costing Loyds money.

Loyd’s stopped insuring these tankers from my understanding from the first day of the war.. even in a peaceful setting the threat of war or the illusion through chaos and rhetoric causes the insurance premium to go higher..and Loyd’s makes money.. You do not understand insurance. They insure risk not certainty. Once war starts, there is no more risk, it is all certainty which is why unless the tankers are making the journey, the owners are not paying insuranc and even if they are paying it, they are not insured for war damage.

Back in the 90s, IRA hit London very hard with a bomb in the city. Damage was in Billions. It did not cost the Insurers one penny. Government covered it. Insurance is for acts of god not of man. Which is why soon after UK government came to an agreement with the IRA and fighting stopped.
