Good places to live near Limassol

Postby Niki » Tue Mar 14, 2006 12:34 pm

Hi

I would love to hear anyone's opinion on good villages to live near Limassol for a British family with 2 children.

We would like to be away from the 'white box in a row' tourist areas and central Limassol. Somewhere where we can mix with Greek as well as British people.

Other pluses would be friendly people (of course), a decent grocery store, tavernas, nice scenery, feeling of space, decent land around homes and maybe up to 15 minutes drive from Limassol.

Pyrgos looks good as does Souni but there seems to be a huge amount of new property being built in Souni so may be too touristy??

Thanks

Niki

Hi Niki,

> We would like to be away from the 'white box in a row' tourist areas and central Limassol

We're in Erimi - and there are quite a few other villages in the area that you might wish to consider including Episkopi, Kolossi, Trachoni, Ypsonas. None of them are tourist areas and there's a good beach at Curium/Kourion which (thankfully) has no hotels - just three tavernas.

They sound ideal - we're coming over in July so we'll get a list together and visit the different villages.

Thanks for this.

Nikki all these places Nigel said are great. But, even though I would like to tell you Episkopi is awesome since I come from there, I would expect it is a little more touristy than the other twons he said. It has a hotel and the beach is very very close and of course there is the plus that the english bases are pretty close. But you could check out villages like candou and kividesin addition to the ones nigel said. They are close enough to limassol but away from all the tourists I would think.

Get a home on a hill at Lefkothea or Panthea.
