Just for interest. As we are moving to Cyprus soon.

I know I'll miss -

INTERNET GROCERY SHOPPING :?

Just 10 minutes on the computer and it's delivered to your doorstep. How will I cope??

Niki

You’ll love the huge choice of really fresh fruit and vegetables that you can buy here.

And it isn’t a hassle going to the shops as there is virtually (compared to the UK anyway) no traffic and no problems parking.

I miss real ale but I brew my own now so even that ‘problem’ has disappeared…

You know - maybe I'll set up a really good fashion store when I get there. Reading between the lines it needs it in Cyprus and I am a shopaholic when it comes to clothes.

The fruit and veg I imagine are great. I abandoned Tesco after getting brown soggy rotting grapes delivered one day!

Selfridges!!! I got through £4,000+ there on Saturday and wouldn't still have been there except for the Cypru Airways strike - I wonder if the compensation will pay my credit card bill.

I thought I was a shopaholic!!

Bond Street is pretty good too - I just love Emanuel Ungaro bags.

We are going to build into our relocation budget money to fly to London when we need 'stuff".

Tell me Lana and twinkle - have you tried www.netaporter.com. All the designer gear you could ever want (Missoni, Miu Miu, Chloe, Jimmy Choo etc etc) and they will deliver anywhere in the world! If you haven't tried it you are in for such a treat!!

Also www.yoox.com is good.

The biggest pain to do with shops are that they close at the craziest times (like when customers want to use them)

Davidp - And the banks!!!!

Niki - if netaporter is outside the EU we'll get stung on the tax when it arrives. Better to shop in Europe or better still head to the US where the outlet centres beckon..... Heaven :)

 you lot are funny!

I miss, er, hmmm.....damn, let me see. Besides not alot, I have to say, I do miss pavements. The designated areas for pedestrians. And proper pelican crossings, and zebra crossings where cars actually stop as you make your way across the road.

Basically car/road related things. Shopping, not really bothered.

As Basil Fawlty wisely proclaimed to the American: If you got yer health, what else matters?
