Just to give you a guide.

Sold my Cooper S three months ago. It was only 18months old, chilli package, dark grey, chrome grills, mirrors etc, 17,000km for £13,000.

There are alot of Japanese imports flooding the market at reduced prices. Problem is you don't get the full guarantee from Pilakoutas.

That seems fair for a small used car like that. You can buy new cars of that class for less. How much does it cost new?

Those Mini are so expensive? :(

They are very cute (I wish I had one) but I didn't think their price was so high.

Honey, the Cooper S is the sport version with 165bhp, meaning..... really fast car!!!! You can also get the Cooper at 11bhp which is still failry fast, and the Mini One with 90bhp, or if you really want a FAST car you can get the Mini Copper S Works with 220BHP at around 20,000+.... :) . The One is failry without many extras though, but the prices start from close to 11,000 up. It is true a small car, but you pay more or less for the name and style rather than what it offers. Something like the VW Beetle. When it came out I wanted to get the Cooper S, but eventually I moved away, as I did not like much a few mechanical bits and pieces on the Minis...

Have to say I loved the Mini. I had the punch when you needed it, looked really cool and stylis. Could part it anywhere. But most of all, was such a fun car to own and drive. The look of the S with it's mean air intake grill at the front is awesome. You also get limited edition colours which only come in the S. It's not just the engine that's different, the interior is different, the seats, the alloys, the "chilli package", the dials on the steering wheel, cruise control etc etc. For such a small car, BMW have made safety a top priority. It has so many airbags and so many reinforced bars in the doors and panels. A real gem of a motor! The One is pretty basic. If you're spending the cash go for the Cooper S than the Cooper.

Want to go with the works? for US$5000 take a look at the minimania.com upgrade. I think it was a 245HP Mini bolt-on kits.

Still I prefer the original Mini..... especially in either GT or Cooper form... I've driven once a Clubman GT with a modified engines, sports exchaust etc, and I have to admit that it was both the most uncomfortable car I ve driven in my life, but also the funniest car as well.... Something that the ne MINI misses a bit, unless you go for the Works version... but for that price you will find other funny cars like Mazda RX8, Honda Civic Type-R....

There are thousands of Mini Cooper S in the UK whichs till have Warranty, the import tax on these veicles is small because they are under 1800cc and so you could have it in cyprus for much less money and even have a massive choice. I have a yellow one 2003 but with only 990 miles.

However I will never sell mine, its just too nippy, i have other cars which are much faster but none are as fun.
