This is the GSM outdoor coverage and is true. 3G which is a very new network for CYTA is only covering towns as it is always the case with 3G due to technical limitations in rural coverage and it will take at least a year before one can give a clear opinion.
On the othe hand areeba has a workign 3G network since more than a year covering all major towns of Cyprus. The GSM coverage of Areeba is the same as CYTA because when there is no areeba signal the subscriber gets it from CYTA without additional cost, and this transition is virtually transparent because you can use all the services u use when in real areeba coverage.
As a final comment CYTA is using "half rate" to support more capacity from less base stations but that has an impact at the quality of sound especially in low signal conditions. If you have areeba is really noticable when you are roaming under CYTA and you are used to the crystal clear sound of Areeba calls.
