Broadband in Limassol

Postby Newformz » Mon Apr 03, 2006 12:57 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know if its possible to get broadband in Asomatos Village AT ALL?? We are desperately in need of BB to work from home so we can close our shop. Cyta are no hope really, just need the 'local' information.

Thanks. :?

I have seen your company website before but Satellite is just too expensive for our budget. We are after a cable/adsl approach but Cyta have said we are just slightly too far (about 1Km) surely they can stretch a little

Thanks for your help anyway. :(

You could always share our system in your local area to reduce the cost.

Here in Pissouri we are sharing the satellite connection over the whole village using some proprietary wireless networking products. We are charging each user a CY£150 connection fee (or CY£50 if they can use their own WiFi antenna) and a monthly charge of CY£20 or CY£30 depending on how fast they need the connection to be.

Hi Sidney,

I get at least twice that speed on i-choice.

Sidney, do you get Areeba 3G in Pyla? I tried it and the coverage is not that good. It often drops to GPRS. Cyta introduced her 3G recently. It is more expensive but I think the coverage will be better. 3G is not as good as ADSL but it is way better than dial-up. It is also very cool with a Laptop since you get total mobility!

I am a bit biased. I work for Areeba.....Its interesting to hear that coverage is not that good and that it drops to GPRS. Yes I have Areeba 3G coverage in Pyla. Areeba are also rolling out more basestations this year.
