Good advice to hold on to that land if at all possible.
Where I live, half way up/down the mountains land for building and or agriculture is at a premium. Most week-ends and holidays we get people from the cities asking if theres land for sale in the area. Four years ago land close to mine was selling at approx 14K a plot now its nearer 35K if it can be found.

With global warming the beach may be closer to that mountain retreat than was ever anticipated

HOLD ON TO THAT LAND! You will regret selling it now with prices rising constantly, It may depend on where it is but if house prices up there are anything to go by i would sit on it and wait for the right timing.

What will really determines the value of the land (apart from the view/location) is access rights and the cost of providing electricity/water/telephone. Without water/electricity no Planing Permit will be issued. In certain locations, it is now not permissible to build on land zoned as Agricultural, unless it is larger than 4.5 donums (and you own no other residence in Cprus).

I dont know where this land is but unless you have financial problems at the moment, I dont see any reason to sell it at this time. This is my own opinion why dont you see it as an investment. Even If the value of this land drops in the future, which in my opinion is unlikely, the drop in value will not be that significant to make you poor overnight.

A person I know bought a plot of land 20 years ago at a very low price and the value now has risen significantly due to many factors that have changed since then.

This is my opinion without knowing exact details! But the decision is yours!
