No More Waste of Time

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

No More Waste of Time

Postby insan » Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:27 pm

It seems majority of GCs will never accept some basic demands of TC community such as political equality , guarantorship of foreign powers and existence of certain number of foreign troops. And majority of TCs will never accept the the reverse of these. So why do we waste our times?

What should be done to solve Cyprus problem in a short time period?

1- Exchange/buy/sell/rent of properties.

Cypriots must be able to exchange, buy, sell their properties which they own/occupy in North/South, freely and voluntarily... They must be able to sue the relevant parties for loss of use...

2- After the exchange/buy/sell/rent of properties; the state land which doesn't belong to TCs should be given back to RoC.

That's all! Then TRNC can freely ask for recognition by the world. I don't care whether we join EU or not. All i need is living in a recognized, civilized, modern, democratic country. In such a country I'm sure the tourist industry and its side sectors will provide us more resources than what Turkey providing us.

Really there's no need to waste our times anymore...

Insan as much respect as i do have for you, i think on this occasion you have given up too easy, as what you suggest will not happen as the ROC will block anything that is good for the trnc, hence our only way forward is to unite, or at least prove to the international communitie who stops it from happening and then see what happens.

This was partially done with the A5 plan but the ROC hit back with the line 'no' to A5 not unification, so lets go the course and we will see who is for peace and who is for division on a population basis, and accordingly the next bad move will define how the ROC and TRNC are treated by the international communitie.

Have a little more faith in the democratic process and soon we will see it bare fruits.

We wasted best years of our life times dreaming and expecting a solution to Cyprus problem, re brother. The TCs who haven't lined up with statusquoers and live in Cyprus suffer and lead a vegetal life... We should think about our children's future. Let alone both sides stubborn statusquoers; it is clear that majority of both communities have no common ground regarding the solution of the problem.

We must be stupid to expect a solution under these circumstances. So why should we waste our times for the impossible. The ongoing Cyprus problem made us to live like a vegetable. I know many TCs who don't get marry, if married don't have children, if have children can't afford to educate them well, don't go cinema, don't go holiday etc etc etc...

If the ongoing Cyprus problem gives two points of damage to GC refugees; it gives 10 point of damage to non-statusquoer TCs. Is there anybody cares about them. It seems no. Everyone tells me "Show must go on".

Everything has been seen clearly. The self-seeker politicians didn't solve the problem when it was easy to solve it and now they pretend to solve it after the problem has become harder to solve...

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I can't do anything other than laughing.

I can't and won't argue with your points as they are all true but the way you suggest will not happen as the gc will not let it happen, to them the day the trnc is recognised to them is there funeral day.

I think you're exaggeratting a little bit here. Especially TCs don't go to cinema because of the Cyprus problem, that's a wild claim.

Insan,

The solution is not impossible. You have to see that it is Turkey that prevents us from coming to a solution. Why can't you accept this? Don't think that Turkey has had your interests at heart.

Turkey has used you for her ends, that is why the TC's have been in a vegetative state. Your future is with us not with Turkey.

I think he meant money is tight to be able to spend on luxuries like cinema, and i have witnessed this too.

Money is tight for most and considering the average wage is around 600 million a month which equals to £210, and rent on most properties start at £100 a month does not leave much to live on.
