My husband, when he worked in a cocktail bar once (it fell in by accident he tells me) mushed one in a blender into a Brandy Alexander. The bits floating on the top were disguised with the chocolate powder.

Another time in the same bar he and fellow bar staff poured liquour on to the back of one and set light to it while it ran around. They must have been bored.

Well i think they are absolutely disgusting and i will never go near one.

I always remeber when i was walking with my dad in the car park late at night as we'd just come back from somewhere, that he was saying how much he hated them and that he cudnt stand them. The next minute one was on his shoulder lol! he start jumping around and everything trying to get it off. I guess it just flew onto him.

Lesson learnt: Never insult roaches, they might just get revenge on you :)

Hello all, very new to this forum, and enjoying your little discussion about one of lifes greatest banes.

Is it true............can cockroaches fly?????????? I am really worried now. :)

I can happily deal with crawling insects, but flying ones give me the horrors!!!!!!!!!

Please somebody tell me they don't fly

Cockroaches should be approached with all due respect. They are scavengers that do a great job cleaning pipes etc. They are exremely adapted too and they can survive up to 16 days after they are decapitated before dying, not because they lost their head but because of starvation. Fascinating creatures!
