Hi Peeps

Just getting all my info together for my move to cyprus in August.
I really need recomendations for

Doctors and Dentists in the larnaca area. preferably that speak good English.
I have 2 kids aged 1 and 2yrs so it is importatnt to me that I sort this out as soon as I come over.

Are there any expats that can recommend anyone.

Also I asked a while back for private healthcare companies and LibertyLife was mentioned, does anyone have a number or web address I can use to look at their info.
Or any other companies that are good.

My Husband suffers from migranes and over here in the uk he gets a repeat prescription of Immigran. Which I know is very expensive. Is this something that private healthcare would cover?

And last but not least when you register with a Doctor or Dentist do you have to provide them with you past medical records.

Is there anything else I should know about the whole process?

Thanking you in advance

My dentist is UK trained and based on Makarios Ave between the cabaret roundabout and the main police station. his name is Louis Georgiou telephone 24 620169. Perfect English and really friendly. Also able to do xrays in his surgery.

My GP is Dr Evripides Georgiades. His surgery is behind the American Academy 24 665441.

As your kids are so young, Dr Evripides will probably recommend a padeatrician for you.

As for healthcare, I'm with Libertylife through work and my husband's company uses Universal Life (24669640). Both are good. You can usually ask them to include past conditions at a premium. Laiki Bank also offer a great healthcare service through IHI a company from Denmark.

As for previous medical history, the doctors gave be a thorough check asked me for details of any serious problems (fortunately there weren't) and we started from there.

sorry havent looked at the e mail in a couple of days.

Thanks for the info Twinkle, will contact those companies.

Littlemiss. Thats cheaper than UK, you can not buy them here over counter and have to be prescribed them with regular reviews.

I think they work out to about £12.00 per tablet if you could.

thanks again

I've heard alot of good things about this Louis Georgiou so may give him a try myself.

Twinkle, where abouts behind the Accademy is this doctor? My appartment faced the accademy sports hall. Have been looking for a new GP as my old one was giving me too much in the way of medication, medication that was not needed.

You need to find the old cinema a bit further down behind the academy. There is a parade of shops with a light shop, car parts shop and pharmacy. On the 2nd floor above the pharmacy is where you'll find him. He's in the same building as Diofantos Chrysostomides (?) the radiologist expert and Nea Salamina Chairman (!). I would recommend the GP if you've had probs with one over prescribing. The thing I like most about this guy is that he tries alot of the medication himself so knows the side effects first hand
