cheers for the info, but sometimes the police make them shut down. i was in orphanides in limassol at 15:00 on a sunday and we had to leave after about 5 minutes of shopping. the supermarkets do try and open longer, but they often get made to close. its just a bit tempremental.

I must agree with Cabbie... it is nice not to see Sunday turned into "just another day" as it is here in Scotland. I work in the biggest grocery retailer in the world, and have had to work from 7am every Sunday since I started there. People here expect every shop to open every day - ALL DAY!! I am looking forwrd to being back in Cyprus later this year for good, and not having to do that any more. As for gains in retail revenue, I don't think we have gained anything. People just do their shopping at the weekend instead of during the week, and you can't earn overtime by working weekends now, as it is simply classed as any other day.

when was that? They keep changing their schedule. Some months ago it was different every week  Now its summer so they will stay open until 20:00-21:00 every day :)
