After booking a rubbish holiday the other year, (not my fault I blame the travel agent), I was advised by a friend to use some of the sites on the net the show what other holidaymakers have said about the hotel they have just stayed in. There are load out there, and even the hotel bookers themselves are starting to collect them.
Anyway, after lots of looking, the 2 best seem to be and Tripadvisor.Com

Yes hotel review sites are really usefull, i used them when finding a B&B in Barcelona last year....
