Car dealers - found an honest one!

Postby Hazza » Sat May 27, 2006 7:57 am

13 months ago I bought a Mitsubishi Lancer on a part exchange with a Mitsubishi Mirage. The car had been going well apart from the aircon which wasn't very effective. I called the dealer and he told me where to take the car and they done it on his account. Couple of days later he telephoned me to ask if its been fixed yet and if its running ok. The spoiler on the back became loose so I called the dealer again and he told me where to take it to get it done on his account. I then got a tapping sound out of the engine so called him and he told me to take it to him so he can send it to his mechanic to fix it.

2 weeks ago, I got the same knocking sound so called the dealer again, knowing for well that it was now out of warrenty. He told me to bring it in to him to send it to his mechanic. He changed all the valves free of charge making it sound and perform better than the day I got it.

Now for me, a car dealer that goes to the expense of changing all the valves of a car that is out of warrenty, not charging me for the work but instead putting it down to an ongoing problem is well worth a mention.

I'd like to thank Mandilas in Larnaca for the after sales services that I got from him.

You need to make sure when you buy a car to test drive it and that it is not sold as is(which is what happens when you get "bargains"). If it is sold as is you are screwed even if it breaks an hr after you buy it.

You're not alone.

I bought a Mazda Premacy from Demitri Mandilas 3 years ago, at the same time my ex-wife also bought a Mazda Familia, the service we recieved and the rectification of the (small) problems was superb and quibble free, there was a problem with the CD player which I decided to replace with a very expensive MP3 player costing £450, Demitri said he'd chip in £180 towards it, much more than the cost af another CD player.   .

For me, and after buying 8 cars over the past 14 years, he is without doubt the only car dealer worth dealing with in Cyprus.
