Savings and Interest Rates

We've been looking at where to put our savings when we move out. There doesn't seem to be building societies like the UK and bank interest rates seem low. Any recommendations? Maybe an internet account. Any advise welcome. Thanks.

Why not leave your investment in the UK?

I didn't think I was allowed to leave it in the UK once I'd permanently moved?? I need to do more research!
