Three Cheers for the Emergency Services

About three hours ago a fire started in the valley near my village.

The emergency services were there within about fifteen minutes and within another fifteen minutes two helicopters were dumping water on the site.

The fire is now out and the helicopters have gone.

Well done to all involved and thank you

Cyprus has got to have one of the best firefighting forces I know of! They alway's seem to get a fire under control in record time.

Well with the temperatures that Cyprus has, fires catch easy. That's why they are well trained in putting them under control or out :D

The temperature today was 39C in Nicosia! I am afraid we will see more fires soon if it continues like that.
