You appear to be incapable to responding to an argument without resorting to a very weak and puerile insult. Some people would say that’s the sign of a weak mind?

I think this very thread shows what an effect religion can have on people! Squabbling, argueing.....Multiply this on a larger scale and I think it's easy to see how conflicts start.

But I think it also demonstrates quite clearly that it is not religion itself, but peoples interprtation of it and how vociferously they defend their staunch beliefs.

Surely religion should be about tolerance to those who are different to you or I?

I am truly unsure what to believe, the reason?

I saw my Father, a truly great man who was honest, loving and devoted to his family taken away by Cancer aged 61 just 5 1/2 months before our wedding.

10 months later, I saw both my wifes wonderful parents taken from us in the Tsunami along with 250,000 others.

Makes you question it.....

There is no need for that is there?
Bush DOES think hes god. You name me one other US president that has led the world into war during his time in office as many times as this idiot.
He stuck his fingers into the former Yugoslavia, He has liberated Afganistan of the taliban, he has rid Iraq of Saddam Hussein, and he has called for peace in the Middle East several times.
He has also done ALL of the above for his own countrys personal gain.
Afganistan was to show the US that their president was tough on terrorism (it worked and for this i applaude him i have no qualms there) but IRAQ and the MIDDLE EAST?
And have you forgotten the price of oil today compared to what it was before he went into office?
AND NOW HES AFTER IRAN. Because hes crapping himself that the Iranians are developing weapons using a technology which could annihilate him and his blood thirsty govt. Despite Tehran telling him they are only developing this technology for their own personal energy, he is still hell bent on laying down the odds to a country on the other side of the world which has nothing to do with him, because of the risk of another country being more superior to his own. OR RICHER if at all possible.
We all laughed when Austin Powers was chasing Dr Evil and MiniMe when they were trying to take over the world.
Ever thought who they modelled that on?:)
You cannot defend Bush on all of his actions because not all of his actions have been done in the interest of mankind. In fact when you piece two and two together many have been done for the benefit of his own people and in the thirst for global expansion.
And that is the bottom line.

JTR2006 , You name me one other US President that was faced with the brutal attack of 9/11 perpetrated by terrorist , supported by a variety of unfriendly nations , Iran amongst them , all joined together by their intense hatred of the USA and their blind determination to destroy not only America but the entire Western world , of which Cyprus happens to be one too. The Taliban took Afghanistan back to the dark ages , Saddam Husein was a brutal dictator . Iraq has for the first time a chance , having had elections , to build it self a democracy and lay the foundations for the future. Its the fanatics and those who support the vicious bloodthirsty insurgents that are making the desired result that much further away.
As far as the Iranians go , I m flabbergasted to say the least that a large number of our own people in Cyprus see nothing alarming in Iran's efforts to create Atomic weapons , and perhaps also carry out their treat to wipe out Israel .This is a dangerous , theocratic regime that would not hesitate in carrying out the mission that they believe is Gods will , to wipe out whoever opposes them AND WE ARE CLOSE BY.
Thanks to the USA , Iran will not be allowed to create these weapons. Thanks to the USA , Afghanistan is making progress towards the 21st century . Thanks to the USA , you and I can express our views freely with out fear of persecution .
As far as the oil goes , yes the western world relies on the supply of oil .It must do whatever it takes
to ensure that when you and I drive to a petrol station are able to fill up.
As far Bush being God , these are sentiments expressed by Anti- Americans the world over , and incedentally he did not start the Vietnam war. But rest assured before the next election you will see more American action.
Finaly I hope that no other Super Power eminates in the foreseable future to challenge the USA , the results for humanity would be catastrophic , more so should this Power have Theocracy as its driving force., for a non beliver that Im I wil say GOD HELP US.

"On June 5, 2006, the Muckraker Report contacted the FBI Headquarters, (202) 324-3000, to learn why Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster did not indicate that Usama was also wanted in connection with 9/11. The Muckraker Report spoke with Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI. When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page, Tomb said, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.”

Surprised by the ease in which this FBI spokesman made such an astonishing statement, I asked, “How this was possible?” Tomb continued, “Bin Laden has not been formally charged in connection to 9/11.” I asked, “How does that work?” Tomb continued, “The FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice than decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. In the case of the 1998 United States Embassies being bombed, Bin Laden has been formally indicted and charged by a grand jury. He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connected Bin Laden to 9/11.”

It shouldn’t take long before the full meaning of these FBI statements start to prick your brain and raise your blood pressure. If you think the way I think, in quick order you will be wrestling with a barrage of very powerful questions that must be answered. First and foremost, if the U.S. government does not have enough hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11, how is it possible that it had enough evidence to invade Afghanistan to “smoke him out of his cave?” The federal government claims to have invaded Afghanistan to “root out” Bin Laden and the Taliban. Through the talking heads in the mainstream media, the Bush Administration told the American people that Usama Bin Laden was Public Enemy Number One and responsible for the deaths of nearly 3000 people on September 11, 2001. Yet nearly five years later, the FBI says that it has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.

Next is the Bin Laden “confession” video that was released by the U.S. government on December 13, 2001. Most Americans remember this video. It was the video showing Bin Laden with a few of his comrades recounting with delight the September 11 terrorist attacks against the United States. The Department of Defense issued a press release to accompany this video in which Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld said, “There was no doubt of bin Laden’s responsibility for the September 11 attacks before the tape was discovered.”[2] What Rumsfeld implied by his statement was that Bin Laden was the known mastermind behind 9/11 even before the “confession video” and that the video simply served to confirm what the U.S. government already knew; that Bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

In a BBC News article[3] reporting on the “9/11 confession video” release, President Bush is said to have been hesitant to release the tape because he knew it would be a vivid reminder to many people of their loss. But, he also knew it would be “a devastating declaration” of Bin Laden’s guilt."
