getting the final plans together for our long awaited move over to larnaca
my wifes one concern is our son at shcool as he has blond hair & blue eyes,she is worried that he would be picked on &bullied for his looks....
I've told her that this would not occure,but i've also been told that the youth over there are becoming ruder towards adults[just like in england] & i'm just wandering how he would be treated[he will be 4 when we arrive]

Who on earth put that idea in your head . Thousands of Cypriot kids have blue eyes and blond hair , including my 2.1/2 year old granddaughter and no one picks on them , or her.
Tell you wife that is the least of her worries, and in the whole , Cypriot kids are much better behaved than the kids in the UK. Cyprus is a fantastic place to bring children up , provided that parental guidance is of course there in the first place. Just beware of the Cypriot drivers and make sure the children are aware of the dangers lurking around when playing out, something which kids in the UK , because of weather restrictions aren't able to do .

Most of my cousins have blond hair and blue eyes. You should find something more serious to worry about.

Can understand your wife's fears, he is only little and it is unknown territory in Cyprus, but as said, don't worry the kids here are quite well behaved, unlike the UK.
Concentrate on your move, as it will be a headache enough.
We all know how kids can be cruel, but before you know it he will be off finding friends and you will wonder why you worried, your little boy will be fine

Snad is right, also he will grow up in a safer envoironment than in the UK.

My grandson has bright reddish hair,blueish eyes and very pale skin,been to school in Cyprus for over a year now and has not had an ounce of trouble.He is aged 6 and as aquired some very good Cypriot friends,believe me you've nowt worry about.Bullying(as in some English schools)is practicaaly none existant.But perhaps the penalties here in Cyprus for constant bullying ,as in crime in general can be a little more severe than in the UK.

With not living out there yet, I would imagine all the above comments to be true.

I think of greater concern is ensuring his safety in the sun, being blonde/blue eyes like myself!

Hey, don't worry there's really nothing to worry about! My mum's got blue eye's and blonde hair as did my grandad, my sis is also quite fair! If anything cypriot people find fair people quite attractive, so i'd keep an eye out as he gets older!
