Cyprus Nature Problem- illegal hunting

Postby judith » Fri Jun 16, 2006 11:01 am

Hi there,

Nature in Cyprus is currently facing some difficulties i have recently been informed. The people who manage the hunting in Cyprus, in order to protect the wildlife have been going on strike, because their wages aren't very good.
Without these people there is no one looking controling the poaching,
preventing fires, Establishing food plots for the animals and wildlife,
and managing the game reserve area - so hunting is now happening ILLEGALLY and is getting out of control.

It really is a devastating situation as it could ruin cyprus's nature/wildlife.

The people will only start working again if the cypriot government help the service - by funding it, they do not realise how serious the situation is.

We can get our voices heard by filling in an online form at www.cypruscountryside.com/support.htm

If we all support this then the beautiful nature in Cyprus can start being protected again.

Thanks

Hi Judith,

As good as this cause is, I believe you'll find it is merely a scam to collect names and email addresses of potential property buyers for marketing purposes.

The domain registrant, Budimir knezevic, has another property site advertising property for rent in Paphos - see: http://www.1stcyprus.com/browse.php?pg_which=6&cat=82 ) and the site seems to be promoting properties in Polemi village - see http://www.cypruscountryside.com/developers/polemi.htm

Take care - I know what these b*gg*rs are like - I just had dealings with one selling property in Pissouri.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. That is what i thought at first, but it is 100% genuine. When Cyprus Countryside have gathered enough peoples support (through putting name etc on online form) they are going to send it to the cypriot government, (like a petition) so then hopefully the problem will be sorted out before any serious damage is done to the nature/wildlife. Thank you for the for warning anyway,

Regards

i was about to sign that, but dont want any more spam. somehow a cypriot computer shop has added me to their weekly email list.

the only greek website i go on is here, so i guess somehow they got my details from here, unless its just chance since moving to cyprus a cypriot computer shop is sending me spam. they're called AC Computers. it doesnt really bother me, i'm interested in computers, just wondered where they got my email from

sorry to go off on a tangent, its a shame about the hunting. i was talking about it the other day actually and was told the majority of people wont be out hunting every wednesday/sunday now it's so hot
