He was from Lefke or Nicosia?
I happen to know the house he was born in. I went to BTMK in old Nicosia (very close to the Greek border) for middle school and I remember a house close to my school. It was almost ruined but it had caught my eye since it had that three crescent nationalist Turkish flag on its door. Later, I learned that it was Turkes' birth house and people living in there (some settlers of course) put that flag up when he died.
