Sorry, just seen this. At the moment there is no badminton in Limassol. There is plenty of badminton in Nicosia and as far as I know the CBF is looking for pioneers to start off the game in Limassol.

I use to play a lot of badminton in London many years ago, and until you get caught into the game, it tends to have a very "sissy" appearance to it, when one watches it being played on the beach, or the back yard. So, I think a lot of people tend to stay away from the game for that reason, but once you get into it, it's one of the best indoor sports there is.

So how "Girlie" is Nicosia these days. Last time I was there, I was 8 years old, back in 1964. Be careful with your answer, since RichardD lives there.!!

At the top level badminton is one of the most demanding sports. There is scientific research that shows that it is the toughest and fastest racket sport. All movements take place at maximum speed and international players jump smash at 300 km/hour. It is awsome! pay a visit to the Cyprus Badminton Federation web site:

Bananiot,

I agree with you. I was an "above average" player 30 years ago, and it was the only sport amongst many that I did, that would make me sweat like hell. Enjoyed doubles, with a good partner, otherwise singles was the best.
