opportunity for strong sales talent selling CMS in Cyprus

Postby vikas » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:18 pm

Hello All,

I am posting as a bit of a fishing expedition.

I run the international arm of a Danish content management company. I am currently expanding our business beyond the Scandinavian borders and would like to gauge the interest of people in Cyprus to pursue a 100% commission pay scheme opportunity. If you are strong at sales you should be able to earn to earn between $70,000 and 110,000 USD per Annam. (Maybe more - depends on the number of prospects)

The CMS(Content Management Software)market is very competitive, with many players offering different products, however we have had very strong growth during the last 4 years due to a few basic factors. 1) the product we sell is straight forward and easy to use 2) We have been very aggressive when it comes to selling 3) We are very strong on the design side and We are responsive to our customers needs, queries or issues. The pricing of the product averages out to about $6,000 to $ 8,000 USD per license. We do the web design (Which we also charge for)for the companies and then sell them the management software.

If possible could I get some feedback on the general interest in pursuing this opportunity. Also, it would be much appreciated if anyone had any market intel to contribute to my research.

For more private responses please email me at [email protected]

Many thanks

Viktor

Without wanting to sound very negative here, it disturbs me that you claim strong salesrepresentatives can earn between $70,000 and $110,000 PA selling software that is prices at between $6000 and $8000. That sounds interesting but that fact that you haven't displayed any of your CMS to show off your product and especially the fact that you are using free emails to conduct your business, it sounds a little dodgy to me. Surely you should be using official company email rather than a free mail one??

Hazza,

You do have a good point. Perhaps I am being a bit to cautious. I was concerned about being bombarded by spam mails. Since I am out gauging market interest in 14 different countries I did not know what to expect. Its interesting to see how different the responses are from culture to culture.

There is nothing dodgy, shady, or mysterious about what we are doing. We are a small company that has found a niche in our home market. We have developed a successful go to market method and we have a very strong product that we have been constantly redeveloping. It is our belief that we can replicate our success in other countries, if we can team with the right people.

We have both sales people on the ground and use a network of resellers around Denmark to sell the Design work and the CMS system. The market that we are targeting is the SME business segment. Like all sales the more one prospects the more likely one is to reap the rewards of the close.

So whats so special about your CMS? What makes it different than all the rest? If you are too cautious you will only get replies from losers that have nothing to lose. If you want serious people to bother then you should give more info ;)

Do you have a website or portfolio?

What makes you so special compared with the likes of free CMS like Joomla or PHP Nuke? Im a web/graphic designer working for a large SEO company i have a lot of experience in CMS and the design etc. I dont see anything 'new' that your bringing to this area.

Dont take people's comments on here to heart  They can be very direct and 'rude'.

All,

Many thanks to those of you who have shown an interest in our concept.

I am happy to report that there are a few of you so far that I would like to meet with when I come to Cyprus.

Some of you have pointed out that I do not mention much about our features, advantages, and benefits. Suffice it to say the following:

1) Our CMS product is very user friendly.
2) Its price competitive
3) We have over 3500 SME customers in Denmark where we have both sold the CMS product and Delivered a redesign of the companies web site.

What does a company get with the standard Media2 CMS?

1) A 100% dynamic website.
their own on-line updating tool/Content Management System.
2) Unlimited number of documents/articles/products.
3) Prime placement on search engines of choice.
Fast and easy navigation.
4) Options for videos and sound on web pages.
5) 5 different templates to make your own design and layout (tailor them yourself!).
6) Fast search function.
7) very Low operational costs.
8) Built-in e-commerce (that can turn on or off)

Many Thanks

Since you know so much about CMS products, you also know that the differences in the vast majority of products on the market is slight. Yes you have the really high end products that sell for 50,000 to 150,00 USD but at the SME end of the market differences are not huge.

Yes there are a number of decent free products out there but they are rarely adopted by mainstream business customers. At the end of the day we have found that our product sells well due to the overall package that we provide. Design work and management go hand in hand. Also, if customer service is poor then you will not be able to hold customers.

We provide a complete penetration package which has a very heavy emphasis on strong outbound sales.

I would say that when we started out in DK we were perceived at the low end of the market but through time we have bettered both our CMS package and sales/customer service approach and are now perceived as one of the top 10 for the SME market. I don't know about Cyprus but in DK we have about 74,000 SME prospects to go after, which we do through a mix of direct sales and reseller partners. In all today we will reach an annual turnover of roughly 6 Million USD by year end. All of this was acheived organically with no investment money. We started as a 2 man show and simply outsold our competitors both small and large.

At the end of the day I believe firmly in the power of properly managing ones method to market properly.

I may be rambling but sales is my passion.
