Towns don't ask to be liberated, people do. A lot of TCs were pleased to be liberated in 74.

To constantly refer to 'the occupied areas' or the illegal this or that only aggravates the problem. Using an emotion-laden vocabulary doesn't help. My use of 'the liberated areas' was an attempt to illustrate that there are two sides to the events of 74 and later.

I dont know the answer to your question but I suspect the answer is not many but even if he killings started after the peace operation it does not justify them. Even if the TC were not being murdered in that period before 74 you must not forget the conditions they were being forced to endure while the their GC compatriots had the controls of the state and were merrily getting with their lives . The TC's ,18% of the population were squeezed into 3% of the area of Cyprus and under embargoes. This is not something that many GC's like to admit.
