Why couldn't both stories be true? Israel allows its business people 'silently' to invest, denies it to the RoC, everyone's happy.

It could be the case, right?

And for your info israel has been investing in the north for years, and will continue to do so, i am not debating the legal side of it but this is a fact.

But obviousley when it comes down to an official statement only a lunatic would expect them to tell the truth its like the GC administration that does not accept that the russian mafia is in the south with loads of money investing everywhere but we all know that they are there.

Exactly.

It makes sense, I mean the Secretary General made it perfectly clear in his report back then that he is in favour of lifting the trade sanctions, and that would give interested states cover, no? Then again, it makes perfect sense for them to deny it to the RoC, it just keeps one more pain out of their ass.

And anyway, their denial, according to the Phileleftheros article, regards the recognition of the TRNC, not the trading issue. They said 'we won't recognize the TRNC', they did not say 'we will not trade with them'.

It really hurts you to see investment go to the north.

So many countries are acting illegally and doing what they want, one more or less means nothing to the international community.
